This was the fastest pictures taking session I have ever done. My older Kids and grandbaby had to get on the road for New Mexico so the quicker the better! So I thought. Have you ever tried to take pictures of an 18 month old baby on the move? Not so easy. She was not interested in looking at the camera or me or anything near me. If you want to see pictures of her looking directly at the camera, well, its not gonna happen.
It was fun though until she found the candy canes. I will post the "POST CANDY CANE" pictures another day. Let's just say that she was in a sticky situation.
This is my little Rae. Boy did she love those Christmas beads. Once we put them on her we couldn't get them off without a fight so we decided that pictures with beads were a good idea.
This is the baby on the move photo. She was crawling around and wrinkling my backdrop paper. When we started laughing at her she decided stomping on the paper was a better idea. If this had been my own children at this age I probably wouldn't have allowed it but hey, it's a grandbaby. They are allowed to do most anything at Nonnies house. Oh, I used to be NayNay. Now I am Nonnie. Who knows, it will be something new on her next set of 25 words.
I love pictures of babies in knit hats! I've been so excited to take pics of Rae in this pink hat and then there was the bead problem. Well, guess who won? Like I said before, she was at Nonnies house :) I think the beads added some flair!
Well, this is the last picture of my older daughter's family until March. I know my little Rae will change so much in three months. I can hardly wait! Next pics will be Easter ones.
This is my Karebear. When editing this picture I got tears in my eyes. I can't believe that she is almost eleven. Time flies by so fast. I remember Haley at this age like it was yesterday. Before long, I will be taking her senior portraits. For now I am going to do whatever I can to keep her little.
Last but not least is my Mannabelle. If I didn't know any better I would think this was my sister Sharmin. She looks like a clone of her. The older she gets, she not only looks like her but acts like her. Manna is so funny and witty. She keeps us laughing all day everyday. What a JOY!
Well, I hope you enjoyed the pictures of my kiddos. I love you girls! AND boy!
I love all of you too. I hope you all have a great New Year in 2011.
Love,
Shannon

I found this awesome recipe in Woman's World Magazine. I decided to try it for breakfast this morning. I felt a little naughty using a whole stick of butter but it paid off. I am always laughing at Paula Deen and her pound of butter for each recipe. I guess I don't have any room to talk after today.
I started off with a cup of coffee. The morning was a little chilly so it hit the spot.
Don't they look yummy? They tasted amazing! I hope you will try them. These biscuits will go with any meal or just stand alone. If your dieting, I would recommend just looking at the pictures, or cheat if you want. Each one has a ton of calories.
Recipe: Cheesy Cheddar Biscuits
Biscuits
3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (I used unbleached)
1 Tbs. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup (or one stick) cold butter, cut into 1/2" pieces
1 1/4 cups + 2 Tbs. buttermilk
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, about 6 oz. (I used mild)
1 egg, beaten
2 scallions, chopped, 1/2 cup
Butter
6 Tbs. butter, at room temperature
1/2 tsp. chili powder ( I didn't use this butter since it was for breakfast. It would be good if you were having ribs or BBQ.)
*Biscuits: Preheat oven to 425°F. Coat baking sheets with cooking spray.
In bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and soda. With pastry blender or two knives, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. (I used a food processor for this step to cut down on time) Stir in 1 1/4 cups buttermilk, 1 cup cheese, egg and scallions (green onions) until dough forms.
*On lightly floured surface, pat dough to 3/4" thickness. Using 3" round cutter, cut out 9 biscuits, reshaping scraps as necessary. Place biscuits on baking sheet; brush with remaining 2 Tbs. buttermilk. Bake 15 minutes or until golden, sprinkling tops with remaining 1/2 cup cheese during last 4 minutes. Transfer biscuits to rack; cool slightly, about 10 min.
*Butter: Combine 6 Tbs. butter and chili powder. Serve with biscuits.
I hope you all enjoy!!!
Love,
Shannon

I love, love, love this baby. I miss her so much. I took these photos before she left for New Mexico a month ago. I forgot how hard it is to photograph a toddler. She was so busy and moving around so much that I could barely get a clear shot.
With a toddler...You get what you get and you don't pitch a fit!
Enjoy.
Nay Nay loves you my little muffin. Can't wait to see you at Christmas. We are going to have so much fun!
Love to all of you too!

We had so much fun with Chelsea. Downtown Canton has so many wonderful backdrops for photography. Here are just a few of my favorite shots of her and her beautiful red hair. Thank you Chelsea for so many beautiful picures for my blog.
This was taken on the balcony of a local antique shop in downtown Holly Springs.
This photo was taken in an alley off a side street in downtown Canton.
And this photo was also taken in an alley in downtown Canton.
I will post more when I have time to edit them. Thanks again Chelsea for a lovely day. We love you!
I love all of you too :)

Hey Everyone,
Just sharing a photo of my middle daughter. I was playing around in photoshop today and I learned a few tips on painting. I usually use Corel Painter to paint but this was all done in photoshop.
This was a photo taken straight off of the camera.
This is the photo after some basic editing.
This is the painting..All done in photoshop.
Love to all,
Shannon

I awoke this morning feeling a little blue. Just thinking about how my girls are growing up so fast makes me sad and happy all at the same time. I am very grateful that my oldest daughter is married to a wonderful young man (who is now my son that I didn't get) and has given me such a beautiful granddaughter who is now fifteen months old. Mrs. H. is such a good mother. She had to go to NM for two weeks so I have had the pleasure of keeping my grand-baby. What a joy! Of course it's not as easy at forty-two as it was at twenty-three.
I am worn out!!!!
My middle daughter is such a joy. She is so tenderhearted and takes such good care of her little sister. She has really helped me this week with the baby. I could not have done it without her.
My youngest is a typical five year old. She has deep hearty laugh that makes everyone around her start laughing. She is all about fun. She reminds me of my middle sister Sharmin. (Sharmin was always laughing and trying her best to get everyone laughing with her).
As you all know (or maybe not) my favorite pastime is taking pictures of my girls. I love freezing the moments that are so special and being able to bring the photos up with the touch of a button at any given time. I thought I would update everyone on the latest pictures of my girls.
Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
My oldest daughter and her husband.
This is my granddaughter. Can you believe those eyes? They make my heart melt everytime she looks at me trying to get her way!!!
This is my middle daughter. Such a sweetie. She is becoming a good cook and artist. She recently drew a picture of a weeping willow tree. I couldn't believe she is only ten and could draw that well. She did not get that talent from me!
My youngest. So attached to her. I don't know if it is because she is my baby or because she gives me so much attention. I just love her outrageous personality.
Well this is all for today.
Hopefully I won't wait so long to post next time. Remember, I have been keeping my grand baby for the past two weeks so I have been busy :) I am working on more photos to post and I will try to post more next week. I just love my Canon!
I love you girls and my son-in-law.
I love you all too!!!

Although I don't really like shooting weddings (because it is a huge responsibility) I really enjoyed this particular one. It was an outdoor wedding with a Hawaiian flair. Everyone, including the guests, wore brightly colored clothes and leis, the music was great, the food was delicious, and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time.
You wouldn't even be able to tell that this wedding was held in a friends backyard in Canton, Ga.
I have a few photos ready for viewing so I thought that I would share them with you.
This little boy was so cute and so sweet. He loved posing for the camera!!
This little girls is the bride's daughter. This was such a sweet, tender moment. These are the photographs that every photographer loves to take home. Raw human emotion!!
Father Of The Bride. I still cry everytime I see that movie.
Exchanging Rings and Vows.
The Kiss
Bridesmaids
Mother and Daughter
Sisters
Dance the night away!!!
Tender "One on One" moments. I just love these!
Pretty Girl!!
I told you it was a fun party!!
The Bride
Love this picture of Miss E. I caught her staring out the window.
Very quaint and romantic.
A family affair.
If you can't get married in Hawaii then why not bring Hawaii home!
Hope you liked the photos. Thanks guys for letting me be a part of your special day.
Love you all,
Shannon

We Got Snow!!!! Yay :) My girls have been looking forward to this day for a very long time. It just doesn't snow much here in Georgia. We usually get a light dusting if anything and one definitely can not build a snowman.
We not only built the best snowman (in my opinion, of course) but the best snow cream as well. We had such a fun day that I thought I would share a few pictures with everyone. Hope you like them.
This is my famous "Silver Leaf Maple" tree that was so brightly colored in the fall. I shared it with you in a previous post.
My youngest baby. She couldn't believe it. This was her first snow.
My Irises peeking through the snow. I can't wait to see their blooms!!
More irises peeking through the snow.
My middle baby just after eating some snow. Their little fingers were so cold.
Okay, isn't this an awesome snowman. Shhhhhhhh, his head is a basketball. Since we waited until the next day to finish him the snow became too powdery to stick together. We had to do something so the girls wouldn't be disappointed so the basketball was the answer. It did the trick! Very funny though, when the snowman started to melt the first thing to go was the head. The girls thought that was hilarious.
Our night watchman. LOL. He does appear to be looking at something, doesn't he?
Karah made this beautiful "Snow Angel." She said she always wanted to do this and I am so glad that I shot this photo to add to her memory book.
I hope you all liked the photos. Have a great week. Love you all.
Love, Shannon

It has been a such a Cold winter here in Georgia!! The temperature high has been 20 degrees on most days with a few exceptions of 13 degrees. I can't take it anymore!!! I was feeling bored with the same ole "Get up, get dressed, do chores, make breakfast, clean dishes, make lunch, clean dishes, make dinner, clean dishes, dress kids for bed, read story, and try to stay warm" routine that I decided today was going to be a little different. Today I told myself that I am going to cook, take a nap, and catch up on my computer time, and that is exactly what I did.
I tried all day to figure out what I wanted to blog about but hit a wall at every turn. It takes so long and requires so much brain power trying to come up with new fresh ideas that will keep ones attention for at least 2 minutes that one can become discouraged very easily. After a full day and no success, my husband comes in from work and in one sentence gives me a GREAT IDEA! He said, "Since your blog theme is Olde-Times here are not forgotten, why don't you go through some old photos and talk about your memories." What a GREAT IDEA! I wish that I had not spent all day searching for a topic only for him to come in with something so simple but I appreciate it nevertheless. At least now I can go to bed at a decent hour. Well, at least go to bed.
After searching my whole data base I found some photos of my family many, many, years ago.
In this photo, I am the one on the far left with the big "Cheesy" smile, then my mom Joanna, my sister Sharla, my sister Sharmin and my dad Bill. We had such a happy childhood. My dad was more like our brother than a dad although, when he said sit down, one did not look for a chair! He was all about fun, fun, fun, and like any mother my mom always had to intervene when the wrestling got way out of hand. One of us always got hurt, usually my dad but mom was able to comfort him and he was soon back on his feet ready for round two (ding, ding).
This is a photo of me (on the left) and my sister Sharmin. My parents had a wierd sense of humor. My name is Shannon Denise Bohannon. Can you imagine the ridicule? Shannon Bohannon! Everyone always sang the song, Shannon, Shannon, Bohannon, banana fanna, fo fannon, fee, fi, fo fannin, Shannon. At least that's how I remember it anyway. I don't even know the real words but close enough for you to get the idea. And, if that wasn't bad enough they named my sister Sharmin Dawn. She was sqeezably soft and could take the grease off any dish. Poor Us :( Okay, I know what you're thinking now, "What is the third daughter's name?"...... yes, still a sense of humor.......her name is Sharla Deneen. It doesn't rhyme, isn't toilet paper or dishwashing liquid but it most definately stays with the theme of S.D.B.
My mom and dad here. My mom was pregnant with me. She was and still is such a pretty lady. I am so thankful that she carried me for nine months and gave me life. I will always cherish her and her pretty smile and be grateful for all she has taught me over the past forty-two years. Thank you mom!!!
Wow, look how beautiful after having a baby. No wonder my dad married her. But, let's not overlook that walker. I wonder "Does it meet safety regulations?" Don't put that at the top of the stairs. Bye,bye baby! Glad I am still here.
Not only did I have a beautiful mom but I had a handsome dad. I have such good memories with daddy Bo. I always felt safe with him. My uncles used to tell me that they could fight anyone but Bo. He is a strong, stout, and protective father who always loved having fun. And yes, that is me sitting on his lap. Oh the memories!!!
Me, my cousin Gina, my sister Sharmin, and my Mamaw on the far right.
Gina, Janet, Sharmin, Michelle, and Rachel. What is up in this photo? Gina is crying uncontrollably, Janet is wondering why, Sharmin is clapping, Michelle looks like she is trying to stay out of trouble and Rachel is saying "I didn't do it."
Michelle, Janet, Me (Shannon) holding Rachel, Gina, and Sharmin. There were a lot more to come. My grandparents had 4 children, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. What a clan!! I hope I am as blessed.
That is me in first grade. My only memories of first grade are peeing on the classroom floor (because I was too shy to ask to go to the bathroom) and throwing up because the chocolate milk smelled bad in the cafeteria. The kids use to blow bubbles in their milk with straws and the air would start smelling so bad. I couldn't wait for that year to be over.
This is me but I don't know how old I was. I was definitely posing in this photo. I try to stay as far away from the camera as possible now. I do not like my picture taken. Maybe I will get more brave this year and come out of my shell a little. Who knows?
Me and my sis Sharmin. Isn't that cute, she signed the picture and dotted the i with a heart.
Last but not least, my beautiful Mamaw. The matriarch of the Haley family. I am missing you so much my dear grandmother. Thank you for the beautiful memories and thank you for you. LOVE YOU!!
I love all of you too :)

I took some time off to be with my family over the past two weeks and it gave me some time to reflect back on another year gone by....so many good memories! I especially love the memories with my kids. Boy have they grown! I even gained a granddaughter this year! We had such a wonderful peaceful holiday that I would like to share some of our memories with you. Hope you enjoy the photos.

My first experience with twins! They were so cute and you could tell that they really loved each other. It was so cold outside that we had to take it inside. Although space was small, brother and sister didn't seem to mind being close. After a few posed shots we decided to let them be themselves. What a great idea. They actually came up with their own poses just by horsing around.
So I will close with Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer. Thank you Mr. N. and Miss N. for a fun afternoon. Merry Christmas!!!
Love you all :)

What a wonderful morning with my girls. We visited our favorite little book store, "The FoxTale Book Shoppe." They were having their annual Book Reading meet Santa party. The store was cozy and inviting and the holiday decorations were absolutely stunning. Their special guest Chanda A. Bell who wrote "The Elf on the Shelf " read her story to all of the young children and then signed their copy of her book. What a great way to celebrate the holidays! Thank You FoxTale!
Santa Claus/Meadors Tanner, Owner Ellen Ward, Leon (Noel spelled backwards) the oldest, tallest elf Perry Tanner, Owner Karen Schwettman, and on the front row, Owner Jackie Tanase.
Leon had a list of every child in the area. The kids loved seeing their name in Santas Book. Thanks for being prepared, Santa and Leon!!
So many beautiful touches to create a warm, cozy, atmosphere for reading and relaxing.
I hope you enjoyed the photos. Please visit this lovely little bookstore on the corner in downtown Woodstock, GA and sign your name in their memory book. Thanks again to all our friends at the FoxTale. We are looking forward many more memorable events! Thanks again Chanda for your dedication and your lovely book.
Love you all at FoxTale and love to all of you.

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope that all of you had a blessed day. It was a little cold here in Georgia but the sky and sun was beautiful.
I really enjoyed having my granddaughter with us this year. She loved the sweet potatoes the most. Got it all over her face and looked like a pumpkin!
I am posting some photos my husband took today of the table and the food. We really had an enjoyable afternoon and hope you all did as well.
Hope you all have a great "Black Friday"
See ya soon!

A Granddaughter is so special
She will fill your life with love.
Like a rainbow made with sunshine
When rain falls from above
Precious memories she will give you
Many heartaches and some tears
She's a treasure that is priceless
That will last you all your years
I love you very much my sweet little Rachel!!
And I love all of you too!!

Fall in Georgia has always been my favorite time of the year. The crisp, cool air coming down off of the Appalachian mountains, fall festivals, apple picking and the beautiful changing of the leaves God so graciously blesses us with every year is an event I never want to miss. It looks like the forests are on fire!
I had been in Texas during this time of year visiting my dad who was ill. I was feeling a little down because I was missing the "Changing of the Leaves" for the first time in 21 years. I was hoping that when I returned home I would still get to see a glimps of what might be "leftover." To my surprise, the silver maple tree in my backyard was breathtaking! It looked like God Himself poured paint right out of the sky. The colors were amazing and with the sun hitting the top of the tree, it made them pop!!
What a beautiful Autumn in Georgia!

My dad had a stroke about three weeks ago. He couldn't talk or use his hands. What a scary chaotic time for our whole family but more so for my dad. He felt trapped because his mind was completly normal but he couldn't communicate. He thought he was going to die. By the time we arrived in Texas he had gotten his feeling back in his hands and most of his speach had returned. This picture was taken 2 days after his stroke.
After 2 weeks he had made a full recovery. This is a photo of my parents after my dad's stroke. I feel so blessed to still have my wonderful dad and to see the relief on my mother's face. God has been so gracious to us. Thank you God for all you do!

I had so much fun this week helping a new friend of mine redecorate her home. She has such a special style that really made this project so enjoyable. We started by painting her walls, ceilings and trim different shades of shabby chic white. I couldn't resist snapping a few shots of her cozy accessories. This is a photo of a sweet little white, ornate chair with a cane back that was nestled in her formal shabby chic living room. I will be adding more photos this week so that you can see our progress.

Miss M posing for the camera. She wanted to pose all day!!
I just love this faux fur around her face.
Miss K was very hungry here but didn't want her sister getting all the pictures.
Miss K my 8 year old took this picture. She wanted to practice her photography and I think she did a great job. I hope that she continues to love taking pictures. I will have more pictures to come. We took a bunch!
